The LOKAL Stool reimagines the IKEA Marius through a lens of durability, repair-ability, and material consciousness. At its core, the design embraces bio-regionalism, using locally sourced materials to reduce environmental impact while creating a product that is both functional and enduring. 

One of the key innovations is the use of diverted Dutch wool waste, re-purposing a material that would otherwise be burned or discarded; 1.5 million kilograms per year in the Netherlands alone.

Additionally, the design incorporates felt made from 100% recycled textile waste sourced from the furniture, home goods, and fashion industries, ensuring that every component contributes to a circular economy.
